TAMPA, FL – State troopers were on the scene of a fatal multi-vehicle crash in Pinellas County Thursday evening.
The Florida Highway Patrol tweeted that the accident happened on Interstate 275 south near mile marker 28 shortly before 6:30 p.m. All southbound lanes were shut down and traffic was being diverted onto Gandy Boulevard.
At least two cars were involved in the wreck and sustained major damage, but no details were immediately released on the fatality.
Drivers were told to expect delays through the area and were advised to seek alternate routes.
