15-year-old killed in Clearwater pedestrian crash

CLEARWATER, FL – A teen died Friday morning after he was hit by a vehicle while crossing the street in Clearwater.

According to Fox 13, the 15-year-old boy was attempting to cross Belleair Road near South Haven Drive when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle at about 6:45 a.m.

The teen was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Investigators believe the dimly-lit roadway played a role in the fatal crash.
