ST. PETERSBURG, FL – A crash in St. Petersburg early Friday morning left two people dead and another critically injured, reports WFLA.
Police said a motorcycle and an SUV collided at the intersection of Roser Park Drive and 4th Street South just before 4:30 a.m. According to investigators, the motorcyclist was going at a high rate of speed and the SUV turned in front of it, leading to the collision.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. One person in the SUV died at a local hospital while another was listed in critical condition. The third person in the SUV, a passenger, sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.
4th Street South was shut down to traffic between 9th Avenue and 11th Avenue following the wreck, with drivers advised to find alternate routes.
