MANATEE COUNTY, FL – A crash involving a car and a pickup truck in Manatee County left an elderly woman dead, reports Fox 13 News.
The accident happened Friday night on State Road 70 near the Mobley Pond Lane intersection in Myakka City. The Florida Highway Patrol said a 79-year-old woman was driving a car eastbound at about 7:10 p.m. when she crossed over the center line, entered the westbound lanes, and crashed head-on into a pickup truck.
The woman, a resident of Jackson, Mississippi, suffered fatal injuries. The driver of the pickup, a 38-year-old man from Parrish, Florida, was seriously injured.
State troopers are investigating the crash.
