SARASOTA, FL – State troopers say they have made an arrest in a hit-and-run crash in Sarasota on Friday night.
WWSB reports Jeffrey Reinke is accused of leaving the scene after the incident on Bee Ridge Road at about 10:30 p.m. The Florida Highway Patrol said Reinke was driving a sedan eastbound when he tried to make a left turn onto Beneva Road and entered the path of a motorcycle. The motorcyclist struck the side of the sedan and was critically injured.
Troopers tracked down Reinke after a search and placed him under arrest. He is facing several charges, including felony hit and run with serious bodily injuries and violation of right of way.
