TAMPA, FL – Police say they have made an arrest in a fatal hit-and-run crash involving a scooter in Tampa early Friday morning.
According to Fox 13 News, a man and woman were riding a motorized rental scooter heading west on East Palm Avenue in Ybor City when they entered the path of an Acura sedan at about 2:40 a.m.
The two riders were struck by the vehicle on North Nebraska Avenue and were thrown from the scooter. Police said the driver of the Acura did not stop to help after the incident and left the scene.
The male scooter rider was pronounced dead after being taken to a nearby hospital, while the woman was seriously injured. Their identities were not released.
The suspected driver, 23-year-old Jenalone Sisavat, was later arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a crash.
