BRANDON, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a driver was killed when his car crashed in Brandon Wednesday morning, reports the Tampa Bay Times.
The victim, a 27-year-old man, lost control of his Audi sedan while driving south on Brandon Parkway near Lumsden Road. State troopers said the car went through a chainlink fence and became submerged in a retention pond. The driver was a Brandon resident whose name was not released.
No one else was in the car at the time and no other injuries were reported. The cause of the crash is not yet known.
