Fatal crash shuts down Tampa intersection during morning commute

TAMPA, FL – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office issued a traffic alert to motorists following a fatal crash in Tampa on Friday morning.

The one-car accident occurred at the intersection of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard and Bearss Avenue, and was reported shortly after 5:30 a.m. No details were immediately available on the person killed or what led to the crash.

The sheriff’s office advised drivers to avoid the area, saying that the intersection would be shut down during the morning commute. It was reported to have been reopened about three hours later.
