PALM HARBOR, FL – A firefighter was injured while responding to a fatal collision on US 19 near Innisbrook Dr Wednesday, WFLA reports.
Officials with Palm Harbor Fire Rescue say that the initial two-vehicle collision involved a blue Chevy and a teal sedan.
Firefighters were dispatched to the scene of the accident at 3:15 a.m. A GMC Denali truck collided with two fire trucks, a firefighter, and a fire hydrant shortly afterwards.
Ashley White, 38, was outside the firetruck when she was struck by the vehicle. She was taken by first responders to Bayfront Hospital with multiple injuries. She is currently in critical condition.
Crews took the driver of the pickup truck to an area hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
