BRANDON, FL – A highway exit ramp in Hillsborough County was closed off to traffic Friday morning while authorities investigated a deadly crash.

According to WFLA , at least one person was killed in the accident in the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 at about 5 a.m.  The I-75 northbound ramp to the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway was shut down, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Motorists were advised to use alternate routes to avoid the congestion in the area, including Interstate 4 or Brandon Boulevard.
