
HERNANDO COUNTY, FL – A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with an SUV in Hernando County last week, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the 24-year-old motorcyclist was riding on Mariner Boulevard in Spring Hill on Friday when the accident occurred at about 11:47 a.m. Investigators said the rider was going north at a high rate of speed when an SUV driver tried to turn from Augustine Road onto Mariner Boulevard.
The 66-year-old woman turned into the path of the motorcycle, resulting in the crash. The operator of the motorcycle, whose name was not immediately released, died at the scene.
