Sarasota man killed when car crashes into utility pole

SARASOTA, FL – A driver died after his car crashed on a road in Siesta Key last week, reports WWSB.

The victim, a 24-year-old Sarasota man, was driving east on Beach Road when the accident occurred Friday shortly after 1 a.m.

Police said the man missed a curve near Beachway Drive and went off the road, then slammed into a utility pole.  The man was pronounced dead at the scene.  His name was not released.
