POLK COUNTY, FL – One person died and another was injured in a car accident in Polk County Sunday morning, Lakeland Patch reported.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the incident took place on Interstate 4 east near mile post 53 at about 3:09 a.m. State troopers said a woman lost control of her car and the vehicle slammed into multiple trees along the roadway.
The driver, a 35-year-old Bradley resident, was ejected from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was not released. A passenger in the car, age 36, sustained minor injuries.
