RUSKIN, Fla. – A second person has died as the result of a multi-vehicle collision in Ruskin late Tuesday night, according to The Free Press.
This is an update to a previous story.
The Florida Highway Patrol said a 19-year-old Ruskin woman drove into the path of two oncoming cars at the intersection of East College Avenue and 6th Street SE at about 11:35 p.m.
The impact sent the woman’s car and one of the other cars through a fence and into a home’s front yard, where they crashed into a tree. The Ruskin woman’s car caught fire, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the second car was rushed to an area hospital with serious injuries, and she passed away on Wednesday afternoon. The FHP said the second victim who died in the crash was a 20-year-old woman from Wimauma.
