Cord Grimes was born and raised in middle Georgia. Cord earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Justice Studies from Georgia Southern University and went on to earn his Juris Doctor Degree from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2016. While in law school, Cord was a member of the Honors Program, making the Dean’s List every year. He served as a law clerk for the City of Jacksonville Ombudsman’s office and interned at a successful personal injury firm. Cord became a certified legal intern, practicing criminal defense as a third-year law student. During his tenure in law school, he was a member of Florida Coastal’s nationally ranked Moot Court Honor Board.
Following law school, Cord served as an Assistant State Attorney for the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit. He successfully prosecuted and tried crimes ranging from Misdemeanors to Capital Felonies. Cord then went on to practice personal injury for several years at a law firm representing parties for motor vehicle accidents and premises liability cases. Cord is a member of the Florida Bar and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
During his free time, Cord enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and listening to live music.
