The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is currently searching for three individuals involved in a hit-and-run crash that caused an SUV to overturn on Interstate 4. The incident took place on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at around 11 a.m. near mile marker 67 on the westbound lanes.
According to reports, a red 2017 Chevrolet Camaro was traveling westbound when it attempted to change lanes. In the process, the front of the Camaro struck the left rear section of a 2016 Hyundai Tucson, causing the SUV to veer off the road and overturn. Remarkably, the driver of the SUV, a 20-year-old woman, was not injured in the crash.
Witnesses described the three occupants of the Camaro as young males, either black or Hispanic, likely in their early 20s. After the crash, these individuals fled the scene on foot before being picked up by an unidentified gray or silver vehicle. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident or the suspects to contact the Florida Highway Patrol or the Central Florida Crimeline.
This incident highlights the ongoing issue of reckless driving and the importance of accountability on the roads. Hit-and-run accidents not only endanger the lives of those directly involved but also pose significant challenges to law enforcement agencies working to ensure public safety.
Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to help authorities apprehend the individuals responsible for this dangerous incident.
