RUSKIN, FL – One person was killed and two others were injured in a crash involving a car and a pickup truck in Hillsborough County.
According to a report in the Tampa Bay Times , the accident happened Saturday morning in the area of U.S. 41 and John Sherman Way in Ruskin shortly before 7 a.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol said a woman driving on U.S. 41 was trying to make a right turn into a parking lot when her car was rear-ended by a pickup truck that failed to stop or slow up in time.
The driver of the car, a 54-year-old Palmetto woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup driver, a 32-year-old Gibsonton woman, and her passenger, a 36-year-old Coleman man, sustained minor injuries.
The FHP did not say whether any charges would be filed in the incident.
