
DADE CITY, FL – Authorities said an all-terrain vehicle accident in Pasco County on Sunday claimed the life of a 14-year-old girl, Fox 13 News reports.
The incident involved a single-seat ATV that was traveling on Old Trilby Road in Dade City at around 4 p.m. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the victim was a passenger in the ATV along with two 12-year-old girls, with a 15-year-old girl driving.
As the vehicle was headed north, the 14-year-old fell off onto the roadway and was seriously injured. She was pronounced dead later after being transported to an area hospital. No other injuries were reported.
Troopers said none of the four girls were wearing helmets at the time, and added that the vehicle did not have seatbelts.
