LUTZ, FL – A two-vehicle crash at a Hillsborough County intersection early Sunday left two people dead, reports the Tampa Bay Times.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene in the area of Van Dyke Road and Dale Mabry Highway. According to investigators, a 62-year-old man was driving a car east on Van Dyke Road at about 1:20 a.m. when the vehicle was struck by an SUV headed south on Dale Mabry Highway.
The impact sent the car into the northbound lanes of Dale Mabry and the SUV into the southbound lanes. The driver of the car and his 57-year-old female passenger, both Lutz residents, were pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV driver was not hurt.
