PASCO COUNTY, FL – Two drivers were seriously injured when their cars collided on a roadway in Pinellas County Friday morning, state troopers said.
According to WTSP, the accident happened as both cars were going south on U.S. 19 near 126th Avenue North. The Florida Highway Patrol said one of the drivers was going at high speed when their car struck the rear of the other vehicle. The two cars overturned in the travel lanes and shoulder.
Southbound lanes of U.S. 19 were shut down near the crash scene for the investigation before reopening at about 8:20 a.m. Drivers were advised to expect delays and seek alternate routes.
