LAKELAND, FL – According to WFLA, two drivers fatally collided with a pedestrian on U.S. Hwy 98 N near Griffin Rd Tuesday.
An Infiniti sedan driver was heading south on U.S. 98 when they struck Hector Lugo, 27, as Lugo was crossing the street around 8:45 p.m. The impact knocked Lugo onto the ground and a Toyota Camry driver then hit him.
Following the collision, both drivers remained at the scene of the accident.
Rescue crews transported Lugo to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities urge anyone with information concerning the incident to contact them.
