CLEARWATER, FL – A pickup truck driver collided with five people in the pickup line at Building Blocks at Clearwater Monday, according to WFLA.
The driver, a 57-year-old grandmother, was picking up a child from the daycare when she saw a child near her vehicle and accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. She lost control of the truck and collided with three children and two adults.
Among the injured were a mother and her three children, ages 2, 3, and 5, and a daycare worker. First responders transported the victims and the driver to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities cited the driver for careless driving.
