TAMPA, FL – Officials are investigating a boat collision in Tampa Bay Saturday morning that left seven people injured.
Fox 13 News reports one of the boats capsized following the crash about two miles west of Manbirtee Key at about 8:30 a.m. The Coast Guard said heavy fog may have contributed to the incident.
The injured boaters were pulled from the water by a good Samaritan and transferred to the U.S. Coast Guard.
One of the boaters was listed in serious condition while no details were released on the conditions of the others. Six of the people injured were transported to St. Anthony’s Hospital. The other person went to the hospital on their own.
The collision is under investigation by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission.
