TAMPA, FL – An accident on Eastbound I-4 caused a major traffic delay on Thursday afternoon.
According to the 10 Tampa Bay Traffic Map, the crash caused at least a 16 minute delay for Eastbound I-4 drivers between the US-301 exit (exit 7) and I-75 exit (exit 9). The average speed of drivers on that section of the road was five m.p.h.
It was reported the crash happened around 2:27 p.m. Local authorities shut down two lanes of Eastbound I-4 by the crash scene at the US-301 exit.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing. It is unclear if anyone was injured in the crash.
