WINTER HAVEN, FL – A bicyclist died after being struck by a vehicle in Winter Haven Wednesday night, WESH reports.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the victim was riding in the vicinity of 7th Street and Avenue R when the incident occurred at about 7 p.m. According to investigators, a 36-year-old woman driving a sedan hit the bicycle rider from behind.
The 53-year-old bicyclist suffered fatal injuries. His name was not released.
There was no word yet from authorities on whether the driver of the sedan would face any charges related to the crash.
