BRADENTON, FL – A man has died after being hit by a semi-truck driver who left the scene in Manatee County, the Bradenton Herald reports.
The victim, a 57-year-old man from Bradenton, passed away Friday at Blake Medical Center. The Florida Highway Patrol said he was struck while walking on U.S. 41 near 113th Street East late Wednesday night. The vehicle was described as a red semi-truck that was towing a white trailer.
The victim’s name has not yet been released. Troopers said he was struck as he was walking with the southbound flow of traffic in the designated bicycle lane.
Anyone with information about the hit-and-run crash was asked to contact the FHP or Crime Stoppers.
