Child hospitalized after being struck by hit-and-run driver in Hillsborough County

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – A search is underway for a driver who left the scene after hitting a child in Hillsborough County Thursday morning, WFLA reports.

The child was struck by a vehicle in the area of West Lake Drive and Bishop Road in Wimauma at about 7:20 a.m., according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. The driver left the scene after the crash.

The child sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
