CLEARWATER, FL – A Clearwater police officer was taken to the hospital after his vehicle was involved in a crash with a pickup truck on Sunday, according to WTSP.
The incident happened in the vicinity of Court Street and Missouri Avenue at about 5:30 p.m. Investigators said the officer was going northbound on Missouri Avenue on the way to respond to a car fire off Gould Street when the police car collided with the pickup.
The officer was released from Morton Plant Hospital after being treated there for minor injuries. Two people inside the pickup were not injured.
The intersection of Court Street and Missouri Avenue was closed to traffic for several hours while authorities investigated the accident.
