ZEPHYRHILLS, FL – A pedestrian walking on County Road 54 was struck and killed by a motorcycle on Tuesday night, reports The Suncoast News.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the victim was a 53-year-old man from Zephyrhills. State troopers said he entered the path of a motorcycle and was hit while walking north on County Road 54 at about 8:47 p.m. The pedestrian, whose name was not released, died at the scene.
The motorcycle went off the road from the impact of the collision, causing the rider to be thrown off and collide with brush on the shoulder of the roadway.
The motorcyclist, a 33-year-old Zephyrhills man, was listed in serious condition after being transported to a local hospital.
