RIVERVIEW, FL – A collision between two cars at an intersection in Riverview Tuesday night left three people injured, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
State troopers responded to the scene in the area of U.S. 301 and Lake Saint Charles Boulevard at about 9:30 p.m. Investigators determined that a 61-year-old man driving north on U.S. 301 turned left under a flashing yellow caution light and was struck by a car driven by an 18-year-old. The 18-year-old had entered the intersection with a green light, the FHP said.
The 61-year-old driver, a Riverview resident, sustained minor injuries while a passenger in his car, a 31-year-old woman, was seriously injured. The 18-year-old, a Riverview resident, was also seriously hurt.
The 61-year-old was cited for making an improper left turn.
