SARASOTA, FL – The Sarasota Police Department tweeted a traffic alert Wednesday morning following a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle.
The accident happened in the eastbound lanes of Fruitville Road near the intersection of Midwest Parkway and was reported shortly after 7:30 a.m. Police said the crash involved injuries but did not provide any further details on who was hurt.
Two eastbound lanes of Fruitville Road were shut down and drivers were advised to find an alternate route to avoid traffic delays in the area.
All lanes were reopened nearly two hours later. Police say the crash is under investigation.
