LAND O’LAKES, FL – Pasco County Fire Rescue tweeted that it was on the scene after a driver crashed into a home’s garage in Land O’Lakes on Wednesday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver, a 46-year-old Lutz woman, suffered a medical emergency while driving through the 3100 block of Banyan Hill Lane, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
She lost control of her car at about 9:35 a.m. and hit a mailbox and some landscaping before crashing into the side of a garage. The woman was hospitalized with minor injuries.
Officials said the homeowner was at home at the time but was not hurt. Emergency crews shored up and secured the home, which was reported to have sustained thousands of dollars in damage.
Firefighters assisted the tow company in removing the vehicle.
