PLANT CITY, FL – According to the Tampa Bay Times, a driver fatally collided with a guardrail on I-4 near FL 566 Thursday.
According to FHP, the 38-year-old driver was speeding when he lost control of his vehicle and hit the guardrail around 12:30 a.m.
First responders pronounced the driver dead at the scene of the accident. They transported his passenger, a 34-year-old man, to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Neither occupant was wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
