ZEPHRYHILLS, FL – A driver was injured when a car was struck by a train in Zephryhills Thursday morning, WTSP reports.
The car was crossing tracks in the area of County Road 54 and Lumberton Road when the incident happened at about 1:20 a.m. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the vehicle got stuck and was hit by the train, which pushed it down the tracks.
The driver was not in the car by the time first responders arrived, according to Pasco County Fire rescue. The driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital.
The scene was cleared about two hours later.
