ST. PETERSBURG, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle crash in Pinellas County early Friday morning that killed the driver of an SUV, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
The FHP said the 40-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle while traveling on an exit ramp from Interstate 275 to Roosevelt Boulevard at about 12:20 a.m.
The SUV overturned after going off the roadway and struck a walkway bridge, and the driver was ejected. The victim, a St. Petersburg resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not released.
State troopers said he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time.
