TAMPA, FL – State troopers said a speeding driver died after his car crashed into another vehicle on Interstate 4 in Tampa.
The Tampa Bay Times reports the accident occurred Saturday on I-4 near the interchange with Interstate 75 at about 1:13 a.m. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 37-year-old man was driving east on I-4 at a high rate of speed when he struck the back of another eastbound car, went onto a shoulder of the highway and crashed into a tree.
The driver, a Tampa resident, was pronounced dead of his injuries at an area hospital. No other injuries were reported.
