HERNANDO COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol says a crash involving a sedan and a tractor-trailer in Hernando County early Friday morning left one of the drivers dead.
According to WFLA , the sedan driver was speeding while going north on U.S. 41 at about 3:15 p.m., when he rear-ended the tractor-trailer just north of Pine Cabin Road. The sedan overturned and caught fire, killing the man at the scene. His name has not yet been released.
A 39-year-old Brooksville man who was driving the tractor-trailer was not hurt. There is no word yet on whether alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.
