TAMPA, FL – A driver was killed when she lost control of her car and crashed in Hillsborough County, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
The Florida Highway Patrol said a 35-year-old woman was driving north on an exit ramp for Interstate 75 at Fowler Avenue when the accident occurred at 5 a.m. Saturday. Investigators said the car struck an embankment on the highway’s left shoulder and overturned.
The driver, a resident of Columbus, GA, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was not released. A passenger in the car, a 28-year-old woman from Tampa, suffered minor injuries. State troopers said neither person was wearing a seat belt.
