TAMPA, FL – Police in Tampa are investigating a deadly crash that sent a car into the Hillsborough River on Sunday afternoon, reports IONTB.
The accident occurred near the intersection of West Columbus Drive and North Riverside Drive shortly after 4:30 p.m. Police said a man crashed while driving a light-colored sedan, and the vehicle then overturned into the river.
The driver, the only person in the car, was found dead inside the vehicle. His identity was not released.
Police did not provide immediate details on how the accident occurred, but did say that alcohol may have been a contributing factor.
