HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – Authorities were on the scene of a crash that killed a driver near a Hillsborough County shopping center Sunday morning, according to WSTP.
The incident involving a car and a semi-truck occurred in the area of Providence Road and W. Lumsden Road at about 4:30 a.m. Deputies with the county sheriff’s office said the driver of the car went off the road and hit the rear of the truck as it was making a turn into the entrance of the Brandon Centre South shopping center. The car became lodged under the truck.
The victim’s identity was not released. The truck driver was not injured. Investigators said the driver of the car may have been under the influence of alcohol.
W. Lumsden Road eastbound was shut down while the scene was being cleared.
