MANATEE COUNTY, FL – Four people were hurt, one seriously, in a collision between a sedan and a pickup truck in Manatee County on Thursday.

According to Patch in Bradenton, the accident occurred at the intersection of University Parkway and Lakewood Ranch Boulevard at about 2 p.m. The Florida Highway Patrol said a 77-year-old man was driving a sedan when he made a left turn in front of a pickup towing a trailer that was entering the intersection, causing the pickup to hit the sedan. Investigators said the driver of the sedan was approaching a red left arrow signal on University Parkway at the time, while the driver of the pickup was approaching a green traffic signal.

The pickup driver, a 40-year-old man from Sarasota, was seriously injured in the accident. The sedan driver and two passengers in the pickup truck sustained minor injuries.
