PASCO COUNTY, FL – Authorities are searching for a hit-and-run driver responsible for a multi-vehicle accident in Pasco County Sunday evening.
According to Fox 13 News, a dark-colored SUV is being sought in connection with the crash in the area of State Road 54 and Promenade Parkway.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the incident began when the driver improperly changed lanes while heading east on State Road 54 sometime after 7 p.m. The SUV then struck a sedan, setting off a chain-reaction crash in which a total of five vehicles were involved. Five people sustained minor injuries in the wreck.
State troopers said the driver of the initial vehicle left the scene afterwards. The vehicle involved may have been a Dodge Durango, troopers said.
Anyone with information about the incident was asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol.
