TAMPA, FL – A DUI driver with an infant in his car crashed into a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s patrol car early Tuesday morning.
DUI ARREST: Donald Leon Whitfield (29) was arrested after crashing into a marked #teamHCSO vehicle Tuesday around 1 a.m. on Nebraska Avenue.

According to the Tampa Bay Times , the crash happened on Nebraska Avenue near Bearss Avenue at around 1 a.m.
The driver hit a marked police car that was parked on the interior lanes to block traffic from an earlier crash.
A one-year old infant in the suspect’s vehicle was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital-Main. The child did not suffer any serious injuries.
A Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Twitter post reported that the suspect was identified as 29-year-old Donald Leon Whitfield. Whitfield reportedly had a blood alcohol content of .171, which is double the legal alcohol limit in Florida.
Whitfield faces multiple charges, which include DUI, child neglect, driving with a suspended license, and violation of probation.
