CLEARWATER, FL – A man is under arrest after an infant was injured in a motorcycle accident in Clearwater Thursday night, WTSP reports.
Clearwater police said 35-year-old Dontrell Stanley was riding a motorcycle with his 17-month-old stepdaughter in his lap at about 5 p.m. when he went through a stop sign in the area of Engman Street and Roosevelt Avenue. When Stanley realized he might hit a car he laid down the motorcycle and the baby was thrown underneath the car, according to investigators.
The child was transported to All Children’s Hospital and was listed in critical but stable condition.
Stanley has been charged with neglect to a child with great bodily harm and having no valid driver’s license. He has been booked into the Pinellas County Jail.
