PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a motorcycle rider was killed in an accident in Pinellas County Saturday night.
The Tampa Bay Times reports the 24-year-old victim was riding on Alderman Road near Eagles Nest Drive when the crash occurred shortly after 6 p.m.
The FHP said the man lost control of his bike while going at a high rate of speed and went off the road. The motorcycle overturned and crashed into a utility pole. The rider, a Holiday resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was wearing a helmet, troopers said.
