
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – A man is under arrest in connection with a boating accident in the Alafia River last spring that killed a young girl.
According to WFLA , 40-year-old Andrew Miltner of Riverview was arrested Tuesday for the May 17 crash. Authorities say Miltner was operating a watercraft at about 7 p.m. when he struck two girls being towed on a raft.
One of the girls, a 12-year-old, went under the water, and her body was later recovered by a dive team with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. The other girl suffered minor injuries.
Miltner was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail on charges of boating under the influence, manslaughter, and vessel homicide.
