TAMPA, FL – A motorcyclist died after colliding with a truck on Causeway Boulevard in Tampa early Sunday morning, state troopers said.
The Daily Ridge reports the victim was a 38-year-old Winter Haven man who was riding west near 86th Street. The Florida Highway Patrol said he was driving at a very high rate of speed when he slammed into the back of a semitruck tractor at about 2:25 a.m. The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike and landed on the shoulder of the road, sustaining fatal injuries.
The driver of the truck was a 48-year-old Winter Haven woman. There were no other reports of injuries.
