BRANDON, FL – A motorcyclist died after striking a bumper and a guardrail on the southbound I-75 access road north of Lee Roy Selmon Expwy on Sunday, Tampa Bay Times reports.
At around 3:52 p.m., a 63-year-old man was riding a motorcycle on the southbound I-75 access road behind a sedan operated by a 52-year-old woman.
As they approached the intersection with Lee Roy Selmon Expwy, the bumper on the woman’s sedan fell off and was struck by the motorcyclist. He then lost control and slammed into a guardrail.
First responders transported the motorcyclist to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries later on.
The driver of the sedan cooperated with police following the collision. It is unclear if she will be charged with anything in connection to the cross.s
