CLEARWATER, FL – A pedestrian was rushed to the hospital after being struck by a car in Clearwater early Thursday morning, IONTB reports.
Clearwater police said the victim, a 24-year-old man, was walking on Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard near Aurora Avenue at about 3:30 a.m. when he walked in front of a Toyota Corolla.
The man was hit by the vehicle and sustained injuries that were reported to be life-threatening. He was transported to Morton Plant Hospital for treatment. Investigators believe that he was impaired at the time, which is thought to have been a contributing factor in the crash.
