RUSKIN, FL – A pedestrian was struck and killed on Southbound I-75 Wednesday night by a driver who then fled the scene.
The fatal crash was reported near mile marker 240 of I-75, where the pedestrian was walking in the travel lanes, according to local reporting.
The Florida Highway Patrol suspects the vehicle involved was a semi. They identified the victim as a teenager, who was pronounced dead at the crash scene. It is unknown at this time why the pedestrian was walking on I-75.
